A serial killer kidnaps random strangers and forces them to take one of two pills that he offers. The pills appear identical. He explains to the victims that one of the pills is harmless, and one is poison. They must choose one to take, and he will take the other. When they choose, they each swallow their pill with a glass of water and the victim promptly dies soon after.
How does the killer manage to get the safe pill to swallow every time?
