Escape The Room’s four exclusive escape room experiences are filled with secrets and mystery, but we operate with full disclosure when it comes to informing you about who we are and what we do as the original escape room in Pittsburgh. Just don’t expect to have any information handed to you when it comes to making your escape.

Pittsburgh’s Escape The Room first offered participants a new social gaming opportunity in August 2015. One of our founding members is a Yinzer (an inhabitant or native of Pittsburgh), which made it clear we had to establish ourselves in the Steel City. Pittsburgh has also developed quite a reputation as a tech metropolis; add in fantastic restaurants and superior sports teams and you’ve got the perfect site for a puzzle room escape.

While Escape The Room has locations scattered around the U.S., including New York, Boston, St. Louis, Detroit and Dallas, many of our 300 employees regularly request to be transferred to our Pittsburgh location, so we know that we must be doing something right here. While our players are scrambling to escape, our employees are scrambling to be let in.

We’re also proud of the fact that we’ve had the honor of hosting players from the Pens, Pirates, and Steelers. That being said, only one of those players has succeeded in escaping. Think you and your friends can do better?

Some of the city’s most elite players, professionals, and performers have attempted to escape our rooms, but with a 20% success rate, the majority of them don’t make it out. Will you be one of the elite to successfully escape?

We have four unique escape rooms: The Agency, The Newsroom, The Dig, and The Apartment. Each room has its own setting, secrets, storyline, and escape route. For instance, you’ll take on the role of a secret agent on a classified mission in The Agency while the cameras roll behind locked doors in The Newsroom where you’ll act as a newscaster. If you don’t mind taking a trip into the womb of the earth, The Dig offers the perfect ambiance. See how quickly an ordinary residence can become a claustrophobic yet perfectly decorated domicile of doom in The Apartment.

Regardless of which room you choose, you’ll have 60 minutes to search for clues and make escape before time runs out. After you’ve successfully triumphed over one challenge, we hope to see you back for the mysteries that await in our other rooms.
